Reporter and graphics editor at The New York Times. I write a monthly column asking you to slow down and look at one thing. I have lately been covering New York and cities, particulary how to turn office buildings homes, neighborhoods and their borders, and trash.

I teach at Columbia. Used to teach at SVA, Pratt, New School, GA, Indiana University. ADC Young Gun. Used to make stuff for The New Yorker. And McSweeney’s. I also take a photo every day at 3:45 p.m. and post it here.
